EMC Event
Destination: Sardegna – Global Talent, Local Roots
Entrepreneurs Meet Cagliari chose Aquarium in Torre Delle Stelle as the venue for its August 2025 meetup, turning one of southern Sardinia’s most scenic locations into a hub of bold ideas, shared stories, and future-facing dialogue.
The theme of the evening: “Destination: Sardegna – Local People, Global Talent”.
The event followed an interactive roundtable format, blending panelist insights with questions to the audience for an open, fluid exchange of perspectives.
Moderated by Chris Verbick, the session featured three inspiring voices: Nathalie De Clercq, entrepreneur and founder of multiple ventures, now transforming Torre Delle Stelle into a cultural and creative hub; Eva-Noelle Fassbender, founder of “Italy Exit,” a platform exploring Italy’s identity and evolution on the global stage; Michele Collu, a Sardinian native and former Silicon Valley lawyer who has returned to invest in his homeland.

The conversation moved from personal journeys to collective insight, with questions like: “If Sardinia had a global tagline, what would it be?” “What’s one skill you brought back from abroad?” and “How do you reconcile the local pace with global business demands?”
Key themes:
Navigating cultural barriers and building bridges;
Reimagining Sardinia as more than a tourist destination;
Crafting a narrative of the island that is both true and forward-looking.
Audience participation was vibrant, and the room buzzed with new connections and mutual inspiration.
The evening closed with networking and drinks under the stars — the perfect setting to reflect on a powerful exchange of ideas.
Aquarium in Torre Delle Stelle once again proved to be the ideal venue for hosting meaningful conversations about the future of Sardinia and the people shaping it.
Meet the Artist: Giulia Sollai
Meet the Artist: Giulia Sollai - Art, Roots and Transformation
Aquarium, Torre Delle Stelle – Friday, 22 August
Every Friday at Aquarium in Torre Delle Stelle, “Meet the Artist” opens a door into the creative world of contemporary artisans and designers. On Friday, August 22nd, the spotlight was on Giulia Sollai, a Sardinian illustrator and painter based in Bologna, whose artistic journey is deeply tied to identity, memory, and reinvention.
Presented by Matteo Angioni, manager of the Boutique by Aquarium, the talk offered an intimate look into Giulia’s world. She shared how her home in the heart of Bologna became a multifunctional atelier, serving as both a painting studio and a venue for exhibitions, collaborations and cultural events. More than a studio, it’s a living creative hub where art and community intersect.
Central to Giulia’s work is her bond with Sardinia. Every landscape, ritual and family memory feeds her imagination. “When inspiration runs dry, I go back to childhood memories—my family, the artisan shop my parents ran in Pula, the scents and colors of my island,” she explained.
Her Bologna space, La Casetta dell’Artista, is now a platform for editorial projects, art courses, exhibitions and artistic collaborations wich reflects the entrepreneurial side of her practice.

At AQ Boutique, guests can find a selection of her illustrated t-shirts—unique wearable artworks that translate her visual language into expressive objects. Her aesthetic is bold, humorous, and unfiltered, inviting viewers into a direct dialogue.
The event closed with an open Q&A session, where the audience explored her creative process, influences and life choices. It was a genuine exchange that reminded everyone of the emotional power of art, and how creativity can reconnect us to our origins and community.
The encounter with Giulia Sollai reaffirmed the mission of “Meet the Artist”: to create a space for meaningful conversations, where artists, guests and stories converge in the inspiring setting of Torre Delle Stelle.

Meet the Artist: Giorgio Casu
Meet the Artist: Giorgio Casu – Art as Journey, Roots and Vision
Aquarium, Torre Delle Stelle – Friday, August 15
On August 15th, Aquarium in Torre Delle Stelle hosted a new edition of Meet the Artist, the event series that brings the stories of artists and their creative journeys to the public at AQ Boutique. The guest of the evening was Giorgio Casu, a visual artist from San Gavino Monreale with a powerful international path.
Giorgio is not just an artist: he is a traveler, a visual storyteller, and a seeker of aesthetic languages. His art has journeyed from Australia to Mexico, the US to London – cities that have shaped his unique artistic vision. During the conversation led by Matteo Angioni, Giorgio reflected on his time in New York, a city buzzing with creative energy where, as he said, “everyone is driven by the urge to create.”
A highlight of the evening was the story of “The Tree of Life,” one of Giorgio’s most iconic works, created right in Torre Delle Stelle. Now a local landmark, the piece symbolizes his deep connection to the community. His work spans street art, surrealism, and contemporary fashion, as seen in his kimono and newly launched foulards exhibited at the AQ Boutique – a blend of elegance, experimentation, and identity.

Giorgio spoke about his growing presence in Sardinia, where the presence of family and his bond with his twin brother continue to inspire him. Those roots are the compass for all his artistic choices.
His vision is collaborative and open. Art, for Giorgio, is a shared act, a bridge between cultures and voices. Meet the Artist offered the public a unique opportunity to dive into a universe of stories, travels, and wearable visions.

Meet The Artist: Paola Falconi
Meet The Artist: Paola Falconi – Art in Harmony with Material and Nature
Aquarium Sardinia – Torre Delle Stelle | Friday, August 1, 2025
On Friday, August 1st, 2025, Aquarium Sardinia hosted the fourth edition of Meet The Artist at AQ Boutique, located in the heart of Torre Delle Stelle. This recurring event offers a space for dialogue between the public and the artists behind the unique pieces displayed in the boutique, highlighting not just the artworks, but the stories, inspirations, and craftsmanship behind them.
The guest of this edition was Paola Falconi, a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans illustration, sculpture, design, and artisan objects. The live conversation was moderated by Matteo Angioni, manager of the boutique and curator of the format, who guided the audience through Paola’s creative world and her deep-rooted connection to nature.
Paola shared her personal journey: after initially pursuing law, she made a bold decision to leave university and fully embrace the arts. She began studying painting and sculpture, developing her own artistic voice across various media. Today, her practice includes everything from hand-carved marble sculptures to printed textiles and illustrated design objects.

A particularly powerful theme of the evening was her approach to using marble scraps. Paola collects discarded pieces of marble from local workshops and transforms them into sculptural works that honor the natural, irregular shapes of the stone. “There’s no such thing as waste”, she said. “Each piece of marble has potential. I let its form guide the sculpture.”
She also introduced her more playful side, featuring screen-printed illustrations and towels, designed to be both functional and expressive. These pieces offer a lighter, intimate look into her imagination, yet remain rooted in her signature poetic minimalism.
The evening ended with an informal aperitif, where guests engaged directly with the artist, asking questions and discovering the deeper meanings behind her creations. Once again, Meet The Artist proved to be an enriching experience—fostering meaningful connections between art, territory, and community.

Meet the Artist: Caterina Quartana – Textiles, storytelling, and place at Torre Delle Stelle
Meet the Artist: Caterina Quartana – Textiles, storytelling, and place at Torre Delle Stelle
On Friday, July 25, Aquarium Sardinia in Torre Delle Stelle hosted a new edition of Meet the Artist, the weekly event created to spotlight the stories, skills, and visions of the artisans, artists, and designers featured in the AQ Boutique.
This week’s guest was Caterina Quartana, a textile artist who shared her journey in an open conversation with Matteo Angioni, manager of the boutique by Aquarium and curator of the series. At the core of the dialogue was the importance of coherence in her creative path:
“Staying true to my original vision despite changes and challenges is what I’m most proud of,” Caterina said.
Her story began in fabric shops across Sardinia, continued with textile design studies in Florence, and matured into the founding of her atelier in 2018, carrying forward the legacy of her parents’ work from the 1980s. The loom is her natural extension, and her patterns are born from a mix of cultural influence, imagination, and attention to the territory.

Torre Delle Stelle is not just the backdrop of the event, it’s an essential part of Caterina’s creative world. Its natural light, sea tones, and quiet atmosphere deeply influence her work.
“Natural light draws the colors and vibrations of the fabric,” she explained, emphasizing her deep connection to place.
Her collections range from home décor to fashion accessories: wearable narratives that carry cultural meaning and individual identity. Each piece is handmade with care, crafted without shortcuts.
Caterina also touched on her collaborations with other artists, which she considers essential to her development. These creative exchanges fuel her imagination and open up new possibilities. Looking ahead, her dream is clear:
“To see my brand featured in AD and design magazines, while staying true to the ethics that define my work.”
The audience response confirmed the strength of Meet the Artist—a format that Aquarium Sardinia dedicates to building bridges between craft, creativity, and community. Week after week, the series reinforces Torre Delle Stelle as a hub for culture and independent design in South Sardinia.

Meet the Artist: A Conversation with Giorgia Soutache and the Value of Contemporary Craftsmanship
Meet the Artist: A Conversation with Giorgia Soutache and the Value of Contemporary Craftsmanship
Every Friday at Aquarium Sardinia in Torre Delle Stelle, Meet the Artist comes to life. This event was created to share the stories and craftsmanship behind the works featured in our AQ Boutique. It is not just an exhibition, but an opportunity for genuine dialogue between creators and visitors, aimed at highlighting the value of handmade creations and personal vision.
On July 18th, our guest was Giorgia Soutache, an artisan who shared her creative path and the meaning behind her work in a live interview conducted by Matteo Angioni, manager of the boutique by Aquarium. Giorgia describes herself first and foremost as a craftswoman, emphasizing how her passion for working with her hands is the heart of her practice. Her inspiration often comes from colors. Each creation begins with a color combination that guides her in selecting materials and shaping forms.
A hallmark of her style is the use of soutache, a traditional technique that Giorgia has reinterpreted in a unique way. Unlike many artisans, she does not work with assembled parts but uses a single continuous thread, shaping it into symmetrical and geometric forms. This method requires great precision and patience, making every piece unique. Giorgia discovered soutache by chance in Genoa after a flood led her to rescue old haberdashery stock. Since then, the soutache cord has been at the center of her creative exploration.

Giorgia does not follow any particular models. Her only reference points are symmetry and harmony. She loves imagining the women who will wear her pieces, designing objects that carry meaning and evoke a sense of surprise. Her clients appreciate the personality of her creations, their originality, and the unexpected details that make each piece special.
For Giorgia, Torre Delle Stelle is the perfect place to create and find inspiration. The light, tranquility, and authentic atmosphere of the village fuel her creativity. She sees Aquarium Boutique as a true point of reference, a place that values craftsmanship and offers a curated and welcoming environment where every piece finds its place.
The conversation with Giorgia Soutache perfectly captured the spirit of Meet the Artist. It is about giving voice to those who work with passion, fostering connections between creativity and community, and enriching Torre Delle Stelle with a series of events that strengthen the bond between craftsmanship, culture, and the local area.

Meet the Artist: A Conversation with Tatiana Del Giovane and the Craft of NOVIETATI
Meet the Artist: A Conversation with Tatiana Del Giovane and the Craft of NOVIETATI
Every Friday, Aquarium Sardinia in Torre Delle Stelle hosts Meet the Artist, a special event created to spotlight the stories and personalities behind the handcrafted pieces, artworks, and design objects featured in our AQ Boutique. More than just a showcase, the boutique is a space where creators and visitors meet, where each object becomes a bridge between craftsmanship and personal storytelling.
On July 11th, our guest was Tatiana Del Giovane, co-founder of NOVIETATI, who shared her vision, her creative journey, and what truly defines her work. Her story began in 2002 with a chance encounter with Novella in Auckland, a meeting that sparked a long-standing friendship shaped by the world of sailing, family life, and a shared experience of living and traveling across different cities. From Valencia to San Diego, Auckland to San Francisco, Palermo to Rimini, each place left a mark on her creative vision, inspiring her with its people, cultures, materials, and stories.
In 2012, those experiences evolved into NOVIETATI, a project that brings together independent thinking, craftsmanship, and a desire for creative freedom. The brand stands out for its bold approach to design, crafting objects that tell a story while challenging conventional rules.

During the event, Tatiana spoke candidly about how her time in New Zealand became a turning point in shaping her artistic inspiration and how travel has shaped her approach to creativity. She also reflected on the women who have inspired her throughout her personal and professional journey: strong, visionary figures who encouraged her to trust her voice and embrace creative freedom.
Tatiana shared the story of how her brand was born, the result of a shared vision, a passion for form and materials, and a desire to create something that feels both radical and deeply personal. Today, NOVIETATI continues to thrive, supported by her family, who have always believed in her talent and stood by her through moments of change and growth.
What continues to surprise her is the relationship she builds with her clients, people from around the world who come back to her not for traditional luxury but for pieces they find more playful, more personal, and more authentic than diamonds or pearls. Every item she creates is entirely handmade, unique, and impossible to reproduce, each carrying a story and a distinct sense of identity.
Tatiana’s presence at Meet the Artist captured the spirit of the initiative: creating a space for meaningful exchange between artists, artisans, and the public. The works showcased in the AQ Boutique are not merely items for sale but the result of personal journeys, creative choices, and distinctive visions.
In this way, Aquarium Sardinia is not just a destination but a hub for those seeking authentic stories, creativity, and real connections with the people and culture of Torre Delle Stelle.

Aquarium’s Green Journey: Our Vegetable Garden in Torre delle Stelle
Aquarium’s Green Journey: Our Vegetable Garden in Torre delle Stelle
Welcome to Aquarium’s green heart, where our passion for authentic, sustainable cuisine meets our love for our land, Torre delle Stelle, 30 km from Cagliari. In 2021, during the second wave of Covid, we decided to respond to the global crisis with a gesture of hope: the creation of our vegetable garden. A place that has become a symbol of our commitment to sustainability and km0 food. The idea of growing our own vegetable garden came from a deep desire to reconnect with the earth and offer guests dishes that tell the story of local produce, grown with care and respect. With the same farmer since its creation, our vegetable garden produces 7 different varieties of tomatoes, aubergines, courgettes, pumpkins, and we have even dedicated space to a plant that produces only beautiful pumpkin flowers. There is no shortage of lettuce, herbs such as basil, and potatoes. We do not use pesticides and practice a form of agriculture that respects the natural cycle of the seasons. We are proud to say that our own vegetable garden supplies 70% of the vegetables and herbs used in our Pizzeria Farra and Restaurant Mosaico. Our chefs put all their passion into transforming these ingredients into dishes that surprise and delight, bringing the true taste of Sardinia to the table. Our vision of sustainability is not limited to our km0 production; we wholeheartedly embrace a zero plastic philosophy and aim to minimize our impact on the environment.

We believe that every meal can be an opportunity to make a difference, to educate and inspire our community to make more conscious choices. This summer we decided to open the doors of our vegetable garden to offer unforgettable dinners on Saturdays and Sundays. Imagine sitting around a large table with friends or family, surrounded by the beauty and fragrance of our produce, sharing a communal meal that celebrates food, community, and life itself. It is an experience that touches the heart and creates real connections between people and with nature. At Aquarium, we believe that the way we choose to eat and live can have a profound impact on our world. Through our garden and kitchen, we strive to be an example of how passion, commitment to sustainability, and love for our planet can create a better future for all. Aquarium is a magical place where every detail is lovingly cared for, where food is a feast for the senses, and where every guest becomes part of our extended family. We invite you to share this adventure with us, to discover the authentic flavors of our land, and to celebrate life in the name of sustainability and respect for our wonderful island, Sardinia.
