Meet the Artist: Giorgio Casu – Art as Journey, Roots and Vision
Aquarium, Torre Delle Stelle – Friday, August 15
On August 15th, Aquarium in Torre Delle Stelle hosted a new edition of Meet the Artist, the event series that brings the stories of artists and their creative journeys to the public at AQ Boutique. The guest of the evening was Giorgio Casu, a visual artist from San Gavino Monreale with a powerful international path.
Giorgio is not just an artist: he is a traveler, a visual storyteller, and a seeker of aesthetic languages. His art has journeyed from Australia to Mexico, the US to London – cities that have shaped his unique artistic vision. During the conversation led by Matteo Angioni, Giorgio reflected on his time in New York, a city buzzing with creative energy where, as he said, “everyone is driven by the urge to create.”
A highlight of the evening was the story of “The Tree of Life,” one of Giorgio’s most iconic works, created right in Torre Delle Stelle. Now a local landmark, the piece symbolizes his deep connection to the community. His work spans street art, surrealism, and contemporary fashion, as seen in his kimono and newly launched foulards exhibited at the AQ Boutique – a blend of elegance, experimentation, and identity.

Giorgio spoke about his growing presence in Sardinia, where the presence of family and his bond with his twin brother continue to inspire him. Those roots are the compass for all his artistic choices.
His vision is collaborative and open. Art, for Giorgio, is a shared act, a bridge between cultures and voices. Meet the Artist offered the public a unique opportunity to dive into a universe of stories, travels, and wearable visions.
